Grand Theft Auto VI is just weeks away from release and Rockstar Games has shared enough information to give players a detailed look at its next crime story. Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are heading into trouble in the fictional state of Leonida, which includes a modern version of Vice City, island communities, wetlands and industrial towns. The game has an official release date, US pre-order prices, two numbered trailers and an extended presentation recorded on PlayStation 5. Rockstar has also published character bios, region descriptions, and details on the Standard and Ultimate Editions. But there is another story unfolding in the run-up to the release of GTA 6: illicit clips keep getting out. Multiple gaming publications reported on October 8 that a leaker by the name of Cyberleek had posted a video of about 25 minutes in length. The material is said to include gameplay sequences, character scenes and possible spoilers for the story. It’s not been officially verified like the trailers released by Rockstar.
There are three types of information players can consider: announcements from Rockstar, the facts of the leaks as reported independently, and claims about unreleased gameplay that cannot be confirmed at this time.
Rockstar has announced an official Grand Theft Auto VI release date of November 19, 2026. The game was previously set for May 26, 2026, before Rockstar announced yet another delay. The November release date is listed on the official Rockstar website, PlayStation Store and Xbox storefront. Digital pre-orders are now available.

The GTA 6 standard edition will cost $79.99 on the US PlayStation Store. The Ultimate Edition is priced at $99.99. The Standard Edition includes the game, and the Ultimate Edition bundles in-game content. The Vice City Collection is a collectible merchandise product sold separately and is not a $399.99 edition of the playable game. According to reporting on it, the game is not on the collectible box.
Rockstar’s official edition details include bonuses like the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Hawk and Little Morgan Revolvers, vehicle customization items and other content included with the Ultimate Edition. These are named edition perks and not a comprehensive list of everything in the base game.
GTA 6 pre-order and preload date
Rockstar’s support documentation says pre-loading begins November 12, 2026, at midnight local time. The physical code-in-box version is also set for release November 12, with buyers able to redeem a download code and start pre-loading. This physical package is a code instead of a traditional game disk.
Pre-loading means you can download game files ahead of launch, but it doesn’t mean you’ll get early access to story mode.

GTA 6 map compared to GTA 5
GTA 5 is set in and around Los Santos and Blaine County, and is heavily based on Southern California. GTA 6 is back in Vice City, in a Florida-inspired setting, with a wider variety of named areas across Leonida. Rockstar has not given a definitive square-mile comparison of the two games’ playable map. There are no official metrics that say GTA 6 is two or three times the size of GTA 5. This same restriction applies to purported leaked map boundaries. Fan re-creations and maps attributed to Cyberleek may be abundant, but they should not be referred to as official maps unless Rockstar authenticates them.
GTA 6 characters: Jason, Lucia and the cast of supporting characters
Jason Duval – Jason grew up around criminals, did a stint in the Army and then fell in with a bunch of drug runners in the Leonida Keys.
Lucia Caminos – Lucia was jailed for standing up for her family and plans to change her circumstances when she gets out.
The two main characters are Jason and Lucia. Rockstar’s published story says the duo become embroiled in a conspiracy that reaches across Leonida when a criminal job goes wrong. Their relationship is a big part of the story that is been announced.” According to Rockstar’s bios, Jason is trying to leave his troubled lifestyle behind, while Lucia is determined to find financial security and a better future.
(Rockstar Games) Rockstar also added a number of supporting characters: Jason’s conspiracy-minded friend Cal Hampton; seasoned smuggler Brian Heder; Vice City businessman Boobie Ike; aspiring music executive Dre’Quan Priest; rap duo Real Dimez; and experienced bank robber Raul Bautista. Official biographies and artwork featured these characters. They have not yet disclosed their full mission roles and story outcomes.
GTA 6 Gameplay and Story Mode
GTA 6 is showing as a single-player game with offline play on the US PlayStation Store. The story announced is about Jason and Lucia, whose criminal plans put them in conflict with other people across Leonida.
Trailer 1: Rockstar released the first official trailer on December 4, 2023 Trailer 2: May 6, 2025 It released Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look on August 27, 2026, which was entirely in-game footage from the PlayStation 5.
The footage and published screenshots show cars, motorbikes, boats, urban traffic, coastal environments, wildlife and social activity. The visual details are among the material Rockstar released. There is no full list of GTA 6 missions, confirmed story length, or full gameplay mechanics guide released. The official presentation can not be considered a stand-alone frame rate benchmark either.
GTA 6 leak: What happened in Rockstar’s 2022 hack?
The first major GTA 6 cybersecurity incident was in September 2022 when an enormous trove of early development videos was leaked online. Rockstar on September 19, 2022, confirmed that an unauthorized party gained access to its systems and downloaded confidential information, including development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto game. The company confirmed that a breach of security had taken place. At the time, detailed reporting about 90 videos appearing online, including unfinished scenes, debugging info and work-in-progress game environments.
This incident is not related to the story Cyberleek 2026. Confirmation of the earlier breach does not reveal how the newer videos were obtained, or if the people involved are connected.
What the 2022 leak showed
The 2022 material was notable because Rockstar confirmed the underlying network intrusion and theft of early development footage was real. It didn’t validate every fan interpretation of the videos. Early development footage may include temporary interfaces, unfinished animations and features that change before launch. Thus, its evidential value is limited to what was visible in that version of the game. Rockstar then released official trailers, character information, and location descriptions, creating a separate public record of the game.
Cyberleek GTA 6 leak: The October 2026 Video
October 8, 2026 saw a more recent leak that garnered widespread attention. Gaming outlets identified Cyberleek as the source of a video that lasted roughly 24 to 25 minutes. The video appears to show GTA 6 gameplay with Jason and Lucia Caminos, according to reports from The Verge, PC Gamer and GamesRadar. The footage reportedly includes character interactions, motor cycle riding, racing scenes, first person driving and some story related stuff.
The leak also drew attention for reportedly showing character boldly in parts, as well as some interactions that seem to involve developer tools or debug functions. These are descriptions of the material being circulated, and not confirmation that the same features will be in the retail game.
This is what has been said about Cyberleek: Material began appearing under the name Cyberleek on August 18, according to PC Gamer. The outlet described clips that appeared to show normal gameplay activities, while noting that it could not determine the identity of the person or group, or how access was gained.

According to The Verge, the extended video also has clips of Jason and Lucia, such as a first-person view of driving and a race. The leak account was also identified in reporting to be connected with cryptocurrency promotion.

The Cyberleek video doesn’t confirm first person gameplay.
But a leaked video, which appears to be a first-person sequence, is not official confirmation. The Verge and other outlets reported that the footage appeared to show first-person driving in October. However, even real development footage will have debugging controls, alternate cameras and unfinished features. Only Rockstar’s official documentation or the final playable game can confirm whether first-person driving will be available to customers, and if so under what conditions.
So does the leak confirm character bold?
The footage, which was filmed in October, shows Jason and Lucia Caminos boldly. PC Gamer and The Verge covered that material .
That report should not be taken as a statement that GTA 6 will have an unlimited player-controlled boldness system. Scenes might not look exactly like in the retail game due to development settings, unfinished assets and debug functions.
This distinction is especially important when the claims relating to a leak involve age-restricted content or features that may not be in the released product.
Did Rockstar confirm the October Cyberleek footage?

The official presentation of GTA 6 shows a different setting, cast and visual direction. A final comparison of performance, driving mechanics, mission design or gameplay quality will have to wait until the released game is tested.
GTA 6 music: Podcasts and Radio stations
On October 8, 2026, Rockstar revealed more details about the in-game radio and music for GTA 6. The company highlighted radio programming in Latin music, pop, hip-hop, metal and country, as well as spoken audio content. Radio stations announced include Chamber 106.6, Cocoteo FM, Dirty South Classics, Flash FM and Back Country Radio.
